PAYMENT OPTIONS
There are a number of ways to pay for nursing care in the
State of Ohio. The most appropriate methods depend upon individual criteria
and circumstances such as the level of care required, previous hospital
confinement, personal assets, family situation, and many other individual
circumstances.
The method of payment is a private and individual matter; therefore, before
you make any arrangements to become a resident here, we will discuss each of
these payment options with your privately to make this a more comfortable
and clear decision.
To help you, here is a brief description of the five most common ways of
paying for long-term healthcare services.

Private Insurance: Some individuals have health insurance Policies that cover care in a
certified nursing care center. Typically, these policies pay a predetermined
dollar figure per say toward the costs of the insured person’s care. Some
may pay the full daily rate and the cost of supplies and medications for a
maximum number of days, or a maximum dollar amount. While we prefer not to
bill your insurance company directly, we will be happy to assist you with
your claim.
Medicare: This is a complicated and frequently misunderstood federal program. Most
individuals believe that Medicare covers them for a full 100 days. In truth,
there is a vast number of qualifying and disqualifying factors for Medicare
coverage including length of hospital stay, degree of nursing care required,
and specific health conditions. Even when approved for Medicare, a resident
must still pay the coinsurance portion of the charges. We will, however,
cooperate with you to secure Medicare coverage whenever possible. Because of
our extensive experience, we can be very helpful in analyzing your
individual situation. Medicare does not pay for catered, independent, or
assisted living.
Medicaid: Medicaid is joint federal/state program that pays for most medical care for
persons who meet strict eligibility requirements. Within certain federal
guidelines, each state administers its own Medicaid program. Typically, the
recipient is 65 or older and unable to pay necessary medical bills. Further
information regarding the Medicaid program may be obtained by contacting the
Guernsey County Department of Human Services. Medicaid does not cover
catered, independent and assisted living.
Long Term Care Insurance: Long-term care insurance pays vary but usually cover Skilled Nursing Care.
There are many plans that also cover Assisted Living. We will review the
plan with you to ensure your plan will cover the care needed.
